But Redknapp believes if Scholes will still have a great impact for England in Euro later when he returned his country.

"You'll be happy if you have a player like Paul Scholes in the European Cup this year. He will be in your team, as good as itulah himself. You will be glad to see him play," Redknapp said.

"He played like the Spanish players. He can play like Xavi, or Iniesta, he did not give the ball home."

Redknapp also mentions two names that he deserves to be captain.

"Scooty (Scott Parker) can do the job (captain) that, as well as Steven Gerrard," said Redknapp.

"Scott is a figure that is fantastic, he's male lover of the family, he loved football, he's training well, playing with the good. He fits the position Ittu, he did not have a problem."
